Step 1: Remove the trunk liner
To remove the trunk liner, carefully unfasten the 11 clips that secure it in place. Please note that you will encounter 3 different types of clips during this process.
Step 2: Remove Camera Assembly
In step 2, disconnect the camera and trunk release button.
Step 3: camera disassembly
After removing the camera, disassemble it from the assembly. Start by unscrewing the 3 screws that secure the camera mount. Then, remove the 2 screws on the mount to detach the camera.
Step 4: reassembly
Reassemble the camera by reversing the disassembly process and ensuring that the camera plug is properly connected, with the notches facing each other.
Try factory mount first - switch to kit mount if the image is upside-down.
Step 5: Test
Now, check that your backup camera is working properly by shifting your car into reverse.
How can I properly maintain my new backup camera to ensure it lasts longer?
To properly maintain your new backup camera, you can follow these tips:
Clean the camera lens regularly with a microfiber cloth to remove any dirt or smudges.
